  1. BACKGROUND:

IYD is a non-governmental, non-profit organization with no political affiliation, operating in humanitarian relief and development sectors. It is a leading entity in responding to humanitarian crises and rebuilding affected communities through its trained and professional teams. The organization is committed to humanitarian values, aiming to assist vulnerable groups in disaster-stricken and conflict-affected areas. Established in 2013, IYD is licensed in multiple countries.

  1. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

Effective communication is fundamental for NGOs to convey their mission, engage stakeholders, and secure resources. Recognizing the importance of English proficiency in this field, IYD aims to contract with training center at Idlib city to organize a specialized Business English Training program for its staff. This initiative seeks to enhance their language skills and empower them to effectively communicate and raise the scientific and cultural level of the organization’s employees.

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

Objective: The primary objective of this training initiative is to strengthen the English language skills of IYD’s staff, particularly in the realm of business communication relevant to the humanitarian field and writing reports. The training aims to equip participants with the necessary language tools and strategies to engage with partners, donors, and stakeholders proficiently and confidently.

The assignment is to impart 80 hours on business English training from July till end of November ( 6 hours per week)

  • The training is aimed to achieve following objectives:
  1. The training program will cover essential aspects of business English, including vocabulary, grammar, writing skills, and verbal communication.
  2. It will include practical exercises, case studies, and simulations tailored to the unique challenges and contexts faced by NGOs in their daily operations.
  3. Special emphasis will be placed on areas such as grant writing, proposal development, Email, writing donor communication, and networking in English.
  4. To enable participants to clearly and accurately communicate in English.
    • METHODOLOGY:
  1. The training will be delivered through a blend of interactive workshops, lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises.
  2. Experienced trainers with expertise in business English and nonprofit communication will facilitate the sessions, ensuring relevance and engagement.
  3. Participants will be encouraged to actively participate, practice language skills, and share insights from their work experiences.
    • KEY DELIVERABLES:
      • Following deliverables are expected from the training provider:
  1. Customized training modules and materials aligned with the needs and objectives of IYD.
  2. Pre and post-training assessments to gauge participants’ language proficiency levels and measure the effectiveness of the training.
  3. Individualized feedback and coaching sessions to address participants’ specific language challenges and support their learning journey.
  4. Certificates of completion for participants who fulfill the training requirements successfully.
  5. Facilitator will prepare agenda/contents/sessions of the training and submit these at least one week before start of the training.
  6. The facilitator will also share the complete package of training material that may be provided to the participants.
  7. facilitator will facilitate preparation of networking follow up and action plan.
  8. facilitator will facilitate analyzing the chosen issues by the participants.
      • LOCATION:
  1. The training will be conducted at the training center of the service provider.
      • TIMEFRAME
  1. This is a short-term assignment for individual/ firms/ consultants for a period of 80 hours through 4 months. Tentatively this assignment will be from July till November.
      • DUITES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
        • The trainer/consultant/resource person will:
  1. Sign with IYD a consultancy agreement and work as a resource person for the training event.
  2. Discuss and agree with IYD on the final training package, content and deliverables.
  3. Design an appropriate process of the training leading to the desired results.
  4. Propose the most appropriate training methodology for effective delivery of the assignment.
  5. Device the tools required for each session of the training.
  6. Satisfactorily facilitate the training sessions and ensuring active engagement of all the participants.
  7. Share relevant training materials and provide any resource materials for further reading and reference by trained staff.
  8. Design a questionnaire for pre and post-test (to be used before and after the workshop).
  9. Compile and submit quality training report (one soft copy)
        • SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
          • The resource firm/consultant should possess following qualifications and expertise:
  1. An advanced degree in the English literature or related sectors is preferable. Post graduate qualification in translation or related areas is a clear advantage.
  2. Has training
  3. Traceable previous training work, knowledge, experience in English courses are a must.
  4. Strong communication, analytical and drafting skills
  5. Learning Methods and Resources: Assess the learning methods and resources used by the training center. Consider factors such as interactive workshops, practical exercises, multimedia resources.
  6. Flexibility and Customization.
  7. Facilities and Infrastructure to ensure that it has modern amenities, adequate space, and technology infrastructure to support effective learning.
  8. Location and Accessibility in Idlib city.
  9. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Consultant/resource person/ firms are required to submit their technical and financial proposals to the IYD HR department.

 

  • TECHINCAL PROPOSAL:

The technical proposal should include but not limited to the following information:

  1. A brief outline of recent experience and client references in carrying out assignments of similar nature (Max. 1 pages)
  2. Detailed description of how the consultant/firms understands and will respond to the ToR including time frame.
  3. Curriculum Vitae of trainer

 

  • FINANCIAL PROPOSAL:

The financial proposal must contain overall quotation in USD for all the services to be provided and must follows the following:

  1. Summary of the total costs for the services proposed
  2. Any taxes applicable

 

  • PROPOSED PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
    1. 100% of the payment will be released to the trainer after completing the training.
