Job Purpose:

The Project Assistant is responsible for carrying out the activities of coordinating, recording, collecting data, and supervising the activities of the savings and loan groups in the project plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dealing with stakeholders in the target areas.
  • Carrying out the activity of savings and loan groups (VSLA) by holding
  • meetings with community leaders and potential members of the groups.
  • Provide technical training for established groups.
  • Follow-up the groups technically and attend periodic meetings of the groups.
  • Collect and fill in the data required for the groups.
  • Submit periodic work reports to the project manager.
  • Discussing the problems that hinder work with the project manager and proposing solutions
Note: The above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education – Work Experience):
Essential:
    • Relevant bachelor’s degree (preferred), economics, law, business administration.
    • At least one year of professional experience in livelihood projects
    • Report writing skills.
Desirable:
    • Master’s degree in Business Administration or related fields.
    • Professional experience in implementing savings and loan activities (VSLA).
    • Experience in providing trainings.
