Job Purpose:

To be responsible for all project implementation steps and their technical aspects based on the work plan, including the preparation, planning, organization, coordination, and relations with related UN clusters, donors, LCs, NGOs, INGOs, and all potential stakeholders in addition to supporting departments. Furthermore, he will be a line manager for HQ project officers and present IYD in the available clusters, platforms, and donors as well as ensure documentation of all activities in the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously monitor and supervise the activities of assigned ERL projects: Infrastructure technical activities as well as ERL activities especially income generation interventions in order to meet its objectives.
  • Supervision of project’s implementation and commit to the work plan, budget, and logical log frame.
  • Submit high quality and timely weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports that will be indicative of program progress during implementation.
  • Ensure quality control on administrative matters relating directly to project activities and its’ documentation, required paper-work, and maintain all documentation required to ensure accountability to the donor.
  • Leading the project staff in HQ and field and providing technical support for the staff to ensure capacity building during the project life.
  • Providing technical support for the program manager and the supporting departments to develop the specification and BoQs for any needed goods to be procured. 
  • Participate to develop the proposals, budgets, and other document when preparing new projects, as well as participate in preparing SoP, ToR.
  • Actively communicate and present IYD with counterpart donors during meetings, related UN cluster meetings, and any other ad-hoc meeting. Additionally, prepare presentations where possible and present them on the available platforms.
  • Ensure high quality of managing the budget and other administrative points based on IYD’s policies.
Note: The above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education – Work Experience):
Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent degree.
    • Remote management skills and experience in project management.
    • At least 3 years of experience in relevant ERL projects.
    • Advanced level in English.
    • Excellent knowledge of the Humanitarian Reform process and the role of the humanitarian community (UN System and NGO).
    • Applied knowledge in Microsoft programs with excellent experience in Excel.
Desirable:
    • Master’s degree in business development or any other related field is preferable.
    • PMP or PMD certificates are preferable.
