Job Purpose:

S/He will plan, coordinate, and supervise the implementation of the day-to-day project activities in close coordination with the protection coordinator, GBV specialist, and field staff. The protection project officer will be responsible for the overall project management, ensuring that project objectives, plans, documentation, and implementation are on track as per the approved timeline, budget, organization, and donor requirements. S/He will also be directly managing the day-to-day tasks of field staff and will report on the progress, emerging risks, and suggested mitigation/response measures, etc, to the line managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the protection program coordinator in managing the project in order to meet its objectives within the logical framework, budget, and allotted time frame.
  • Monitor and supervise project activities continuously, and evaluate progress using outputs and impact.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to applicable timeframes and formats.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly narrative reports and submit them accordingly.
  • Assist in managing field team staff, including day-to-day management and development.
  • Manage budget and ensure that all expenses are coded appropriately and according to budget and meet IYD standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and good governance.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate communication with the team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop the project implementation plan, including (recruitment, procurement, media, budget tracking, risk management, MEAL, etc, in coordination with concerned departments), and update it on a monthly basis.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Monitor the day-to-day logistics, administration, budget forecast & follow-up.
Note: The above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education – Work Experience):
Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social studies, humanities, or any other related field.
    • One year of experience managing protection projects such as (GBV, CP, GP) or PSEA.
    • Native in Arabic.
    • Advanced level in English.
    • Advanced narrative reports writing.
Desirable:
    • Master’s degree in psychology, social studies, humanities, or any other related field.
    • Three years of experience managing protection projects such as (GBV, CP, GP) or PSEA.
    • Excellent experience in project management (planning, implementation).
    • Antive-like level in English.
