Job Purpose:

The IPA senior Assistant is responsible for implementing IPA cases as per Protection Cluster standard operating procedures, considering confidentiality and privacy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach visits to identify persons with protection needs, prioritizing the most vulnerable, marginalized and invisible community members.
  • Identify and refer persons with protection or other needs to appropriate services in line with safe identification and referral principles.
  • Provide individual protection assistance to persons with urgent protection needs, focusing on the most vulnerable, including older persons at risk, women at risk (excluding GBV survivors), children at risk (excluding child protection violations), and persons with disabilities.
  • Provide emergency cash assistance to address urgent protection concerns to eligible individuals, set a clear protection objective and follow up on the impact of assistance.
  • Implement individual protection assistance (IPA) activities to cases that do not require specialized services or prolonged follow-up.
  • Provision of IPA assessment and provision to beneficiaries on a daily basis in the field.
  • Work with the IYD Team and other stakeholders to identify and register individual cases that require IPA intervention in the field.
  • Ensure to record of registered cases in the database on time and with quality, update the information as necessary, and ensure that progress is updated periodically in the database.
  • Accompany the beneficiaries as needed and support them to access services.
  • Coordination with all other organizations and partners engaged in IPA work to activate the safe referral pathway.
  • Ensure follow-up on referral cases and keep a record of outcomes.
  • Ensure impartiality, and confidentiality of beneficiaries, at all times.

Qualification (Education – Work Experience):
Essential:
    • University degree in social sciences, psychology, or any other related field of study, or university student in the last years of study in the mentioned fields.
    • Work experience in individual protection assistance (IPA) for at least one year.
    • Familiarity with basic training and additional training such as facilitation skills and dealing with individual cases.
    • Understanding of General protection.
    • Distinguished experiences in building trust with others, empowering and supporting them.
      Verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
