Job Purpose:

Planning, supervising, directing, and controlling the implementation of project activities within the time plan and high quality to achieve the most significant benefit and service to the beneficiaries and carry out all necessary coordination operations to ensure that.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising the project workflow to be of the required quality and time.
  • Submitting regular reports to the project manager.
  • Distributing tasks to the project staff according to the daily work plan and preparing weekly and monthly plans for the team’s work.
  • Ensure that project activities are implemented as planned and within the specified time plan.
  • Coordination with the supporting departments, such as MEAL, media, logistics, procurement, etc.
  • Coordination with local councils and signing MoUs for the project in coordination with the office manager and program coordinator.
  • Participate in determining project requirements to implement the operational plan regarding financial or human resources, contracts, partnerships, or development programs.
  • Supervising the receipt of work from contractors and matching them with the required specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to IYD policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Implementation of the technical guidance of the project and ensuring the high technical quality of the project.
  • Work to develop the skills and knowledge of employees within the sector projects implemented on the ground.
  • Implement other tasks as might be required in relation to IYD ERL Program in Syria.
Note: The above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education – Work Experience):
Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture engineering, or any related certificate.
    • At least two years of experience supervising the implementation of roads, infrastructure, and buildings rehabilitation projects and managing work teams.
    • Experience in implementing cash-for-work activities.
    • Good level of English.
    • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts.
Desirable:
    • Master’s degree in civil engineering.
    • More than five years of progressive professional supervising the implementation of roads, infrastructure, and buildings rehabilitation projects and managing work teams.
