Job Purpose:

The role of the Psycho-social Support worker is to provide Psycho-social service through comprehensive assessment, recovery planning, implementation, and overall evaluation of individual needs and additional ways of support in WOMEN AND GIRLS SAFE SPACES (WGSS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing psychosocial support activities to beneficiaries regarding protection activities from GBV.
  • Participate in planning and organizing psychosocial support sessions with beneficiaries.
  • Prepare the requirements and needs for each psychosocial support session.
  • Identifying women, adolescent girls, and at-risk cases requires case management and ensuring safe referral to the case manager.
  • Positive interaction with the beneficiaries and encouraging them to express their needs and ensure their safety.
  • Ensure that activities are carried out in an appropriate place in line with minimum standards and proportion to people with disabilities.
  • Collect and document feedback on the implementation of the methodology, including challenges and lessons learned.
  • Preparing a report on work progress respecting confidentiality within gender-based violence sessions.
  • Collect attendance sheets of participants in activities, and fill out weekly reports as required.
  • Work closely with workers in the center and other protection program staff.
  • Work in accordance with the principles of protection and humanitarian action that guarantee confidentiality and privacy, and work with the displaced and host communities in ways that guarantee safety and dignity.
Note: The above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
Qualification (Education – Work Experience):
Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in psychological counseling, Psychology, Social Sciences, or any other related field.
    • Previous practical experience in the same job position in an NGO.
    • Commitment to the basic morals of working with vulnerable people and respecting confidentiality.
    • Ability to work independently and with a team at the same time.
    • Ability to conduct individual and group awareness-raising sessions and group activities, specifically in GBV issues.
Desirable:
    • Master’s degree in psychology or Social Sciences.
    • More than three years of professional experience in the same position.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Experience in working with NGOs.
    • Good experience in dealing with archives.
